bespoke garden room, Sudbury 2020
As part of a town garden in Sudbury’s historic core we built a bespoke insulated garden room (subject to first obtaining the necessary planning and building regulations approval). All materials (most of which were re-purposed from other buildings) had to be carried through the cottage, making this a boots on boots off job and a half! But we did it and the client now has a bespoke cosy, low carbon, eco friendly home office and chill out space.

The Mill, Long Melford
I have the privilege of working with a host of fantastic clients including Clare and Paul of The Mill - Long Melford, that offers luxury rooms with breakfast. This photo shows a seating area I installed, one of several projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on at The Mill.
Leavenheath 2018
This was a cold winters work, but the hot soup and tea from the lovely clients kept us going on this large patio.
wall repairs using mix of reclaimed and new bricks
I’ve had the pleasure of working for many years at this property in Kettlebaston. In 2019 I repaired and extended the yard wall and piers, and resurfaced the drive.
Most of the wall was in need of total repair. But with careful dismantling we were able to salvage the majority of the original bricks.
A mix of original bricks reclaimed from the original wall, with some carefully selected new bricks gives a great end result.

raised bed make over
At this property in Stowmarket the client asked me to find a solution to an existing bed. The original log roll edging had seen better days and the soil was spilling into the pebbles. My solution was to have random height sleeper cuts, fixed on end. This more substantial edge will last much longer, is far more robust than log roll (you can stand on it and it won’t move) looks great and used far fewer sleepers than a conventional horizontal (stacked) sleeper layout.
The original log roll was in need of replacing but the established plants needed to be protected.
The end result keeps the pebbles and slate chippings apart and makes a great feature, without negatively impacting on the roots of the existing plants.
rebuilding of existing retaining wall and grading of bank
At this farm in Brent Eleigh I repaired an existing retaining flint wall and regraded the earth bank beyond.
Ensuring the foundations are fit for purpose is essential.
Materials were reclaimed from the original wall. Additional strengthening was added by incorporating a block wall behind.
The wall before. Incorporating drainage into and reinforcing the new wall will ensure it lasts for many decades to come.

Long Melford 2018.
I had the pleasure of bringing a Gina Hutchins landscape design to life in this new garden. Relocating the drain access into the paved area and using a flush paved cover gives an uncluttered look. The bespoke pergola adds an interesting feature and once established with plants, both privacy and shade.
Saffron Walden 2018
This is the second garden I’ve had the pleasure to build for this customer.

The stepped paving with built in beds add interest.
Getting the ground works right ensures a successful end result.
This was one of the muddiest sites we have worked on, which gave us some added challenges... but nothing that could stop us achieving a great end result.

Long Melford 2017
Listed cottage garden design by Angela Ambrose. ADI Landscapes brought this garden make over to life by repairing the flint walls, erecting a bespoke pergola, laying the paving, and installing the trellis and turf.
Great Cornard 2017
This project in Great Cornard in 2017 required us to rework the existing drainage, provide a retaining wall and paving.
Things sometimes appear to take a step back before they can take a step forward...
Preparation and solid ground works are the key to a successful outcome.
Levels are important... and always worth getting right.
